Now that you have the basics you can really have some fun with decorating the table. Make it tropical with some palm fronds in vases at either end and monkey pod plates. Or go with a casually elegant French look with settings of Aptware crockery on top of unironed white linen. Try a simple look with sprigs if ivy for centerpieces and crisp white plates. The possibilities are truly endless.
When you're planning your outdoor spaces, remember to keep them flexible. People like to move their furniture around to follow the sun or the fun and you don't want to cram your deck or patio so full of furniture that it's tough to get comfortable. And be sure you leave well thought out traffic spaces so people can easily move from the house, out on the deck or patio and down into the yard.
While these are not a very common style of patio tables you may be able to find one when you are shopping. They are not called display top tables for the most part, but what you may notice is that you will see a glass top and then a shelf underneath or one that has a solid surface just a few inches below the glass. These tables will do the trick. You can put items that suit your theme on the undersurface and enjoy looking at them when sitting at the table.
