Planning an outdoor dinner party does not need to be an overwhelming task. Simply plan it in steps and you will be surprised at how easy it is. And once you have had a few they will get easier and easier to host and enjoy. After all what is better than sharing those warm summer evenings with family, friends and the stars above?
Once you find the kinds of patio tables that will work for your needs, you need to select the right umbrella. Figure out how much shade you will need, and look for an umbrella that can offer that coverage. A general rule of thumb is if you have a patio table that is up to 30 inches wide, you need a 6-foot umbrella. A 7-foot umbrella will cover a table up to 36 inches. If you have a larger table, up to 48 inches, you need to look for a 9-foot umbrella, to assure the right amount of shade. If you are considering backyard dining, and have an exceptionally large table (up to 72 inches,) you will need a major umbrella of 11-foot in diameter.
Instead, it is time to create a real entertainment venue with patio tables and chairs that you are proud to show off and that complement the rest of the environment you have created in your yard.
