Patio tables come in a number of styles, shapes and sizes. Often you will be drawn by the aesthetics of patio tables before you ever see if they will suit your needs. That's ok, initially. But, before you buy, make sure the table you select will be one you love to be at, not one you just look at through the window.
One of the reasons why teak is so popular is the beauty of the wood. The rich grain of teak is unmistakable, as it its ability to weather the worst weather you can imagine. Its tight grain and oils naturally resist rain as well as infestations by bugs. So it's a win-win if you live in certain climates.
If you want to add a little class to your patio table, you can look into a glass. It always seems nice to have a little bit of a glass touch to a table. A glass table-top is a great way to do this. You can still have a hardy table, made of wood, or iron, but a nice textured glass tabletop softens the entire look. The obvious downside is that glass is glass. It's breakable, and accidents do happen especially if you have a house full of kids in the summer months.
