I use three pieces overall to make up mine roof because I was trying to get it all out of one sheet of plywood. Since I have multiple pieces making up the roof, I made sure to cut the pieces so that they'll be all meeting at the center rafter. What I mean by that is these two pieces here are sharing half of the same rafter. I would put in one nail just to tack the pieces down and climb onto the roof and finish nailing them all down the next morning. I use some scrap siding to make some Koch pieces for the ends of those rafters.
I was also able to use a lot of scraps to tuck into the smaller cavities, like above the door and to the left and right at the door, since I'm trying to reduce the noise as much as possible. I also went through and insulated the roof cavities and just a tip for making long straight cuts. On these bats. You can make a few pencil marks and use a scrap board to make a straight edge for you to cut along. It was really difficult to get a good spot in the small space, but you can kind of see here how it went through all of the different triangle pieces, as well as the roof to just make sure it was fully insulated.
I'm really curious about how much noise it's going to be able to reduce. I know the vent will let out a lot of sound, but I'm still thinking it's going to be quieter than if I didn't have the insulation. So the last thing I did this week was go through all the new seams I created and applied some caulking, I'm just trying to make sure that this is his watertight as possible. Well, I definitely didn't get as much done this week as I was hoping, but we've been having a lot of off and on rain here lately plus now it's daylight savings time. So it's getting dark so quickly, but stay tuned,
