We have a space on the side. If we want to put a little lean-to or something we have like five feet on the right side and that's the only reason we have out there. So when you see in the videos we're going to have space on the right side and only because we had to literally extend the foundation, so we just took out one side, the left side cut out five more feet, filled it with gravel and then framed it All in so now we have, I don't know it's a lot wider than the actual shed, which is just because we had to move it over more. Overall, it was a lot of fun. I have a big family.
I have four brothers and I have three sisters. So we had a lot of help all the time. This isn't something I would ever do by myself yeah. I am, I think, I'm a strong person but like thank you I'll, take all out buy it. Yet we started with a rock a gravel foundation. On top of the gravel we put cement cottage stones, cobblestones cottage stones - I don't know square bricks like stones - are about one inch thick by like this big put skids on top 4x4 treated lumber skids on top of the stone the bricks, and we have three of Them so one two, three three ding-ding-ding bricks underneath gravel underneath so we have probably for this is probably a good six inches above the ground before the floor.
So it's tall okay, since this part of the video is extremely boring and you probably didn't click on this video to watch me sit and talk about stuff, so we're a skip ahead to the videos and you'll just see for yourself. Okay, so we have our frame ready for our gravel. We kind of flattened out the dirt a little bit just counted some posts into the ground and use them two by fours, and this box is 12 feet by 14 feet. We're going to have a twelve inch overhang, so we wanted a little bit of extra room for the rain here we are leveling out and laying the skids we're just using 4x4 treated lumber and underneath our skids.
We have cobblestones and we have three stones per skid. We're getting ready to assemble this uh, this fine specimen right here I got my friends that are help me build my shed all right, let's go all right. We just cutting all the toys. We've got some elves or something because all of our pilot holes are per-drilled for our hole screws, so we're just ready to assemble it. Okay, we're almost done uh toe nailing.
I mean he's on the fence the floor, joist to the skits. How we have all of our joists screw to the end boards and according to Phil, it's time to level up we're a level it up with that level you how my slave brother put some of these nails in here, so I have an easier job. No, I can't do it right all right, somebody's having a bad day, nails, psych, okay, yeah! You can probably guess that my next investment was a nailed to buy 40, this sheet of plywood, so we can use it as a guide for the saw we cut plywood into strips, and then we cut them into webbing pieces to connect our trust pieces template for The webbing and I'm chasing them out, so she can cut up all right. We're all set up to cut our trusses and it's a be pretty easy, because all three cuts are going to be at twenty two and a half degree angles and they're all the same length. So it'll be easy.
If you're use of cheap shots com, they show you how to make a temporary trust jig out of the corner of your floor here, we're just assembling our trusses. We use screws at first only because we didn't have our nailed. Now we stick to our nailed. The nailed is much better much quicker. The truss jig is extremely efficient.
All your angles are going to be the same. Every time you all right. We have all of our trusses finished now we need to go through and attach our 12 inch overhang on all of them. We put webbing on the front and back of each connection, except for the end trusses. We only put webbing on the side.
